In this meticulous line bore application, our team placed special emphasis on environmental conditions and wind currents, recognizing the critical nature of detailed attention, particularly with the extended length of the shaft (approximately 21 meters). To ensure precision and avoid turbulence, our approach involved utilizing a high sampling (filter) while capturing data.
The tools employed for this application were the Easy Laser Bore Alignment System E 950 and the E710 Shaft Alignment System. The laser emitter was strategically mounted on the aft v-bracket. A total of seven positions were inspected, with the seventh position focusing on the gearbox flange. Among these, four positions were distributed across the two v-brackets, and two were on the stern tube. The final inspection position targeted the gearbox flange.
Notably, our team executed measurements to achieve fine alignment between the gearbox and the engine, following this meticulous procedure on both propulsion systems of the Super Yacht. This comprehensive approach ensured a thorough assessment and alignment of the entire system.
