Area Velocity Flow Meter

Pulsar AVFM 6.1

The AVFM 6.1 sensor from the British company Pulsar is suitable for measuring flow and velocity in open channels and partially filled pipes. It is designed for flow studies, infiltration and inflow studies, while its advanced manufacturing technology makes it ideal for wastewater, stormwater, irrigation, and environmental flow applications.

The AVFM 6.1 uses a submersible ultrasonic sensor to continuously measure both velocity and level in the channel or pipe. The sensor is resistant to fouling, corrosion, and abrasion. It provides real-time flow rate calculation and totalized flow display on its large, backlit LCD screen. The system connects to samplers or SCADA and telemetry systems via its 4-20mA outputs and relays. Data retrieval is also possible via USB stick.
