The Otter Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) is a versatile platform designed for seabed mapping and monitoring of protected waters. With dimensions of 200x108x1.5 cm and weighing 55 kg, Otter is a user-friendly USV that can be easily transported to the field.
The Otter system can be disassembled into components weighing less than 20 kilograms, allowing a single person to easily launch it from a dock, lake, riverbank, or beach. Its robust catamaran-style design makes the Otter a cost-effective solution for bathymetric surveys in protected waters such as coastal areas, lakes, canals, rivers, and harbors. It can be paired with a range of sensors for seabed mapping and environmental monitoring.
Vehicle Control Station (VCS)
The Otter is controlled through a tablet screen – the Vehicle Control Station (VCS) – offering control functions like course and speed adjustments, among others.
Control & Monitoring
The Vehicle Control Station (VCS) provides real-time quality control and performance monitoring of the sensor and area coverage data.
Sturdy and durable
The system is powered by electric thrusters and four high-capacity, easily swappable batteries, giving the Otter exceptional endurance for its class and size.
