Enhancing Precision and Efficiency: Scan to BIM of Gewa Tower, Germany

3D laser scanning on SLT 107 Schwabenlandtower (former Gewa Tower).
3D laser scanning measurements on SLT 107 Schwabenlandtower or the former Gewa Tower

Accuracy is a critical factor for as-built documentation of facilities and equipment. Our team conducted 3D laser scanning measurements on SLT 107 Schwabenlandtower or the former Gewa Tower. In 26 working days, our team performed 3D laser scanning measurements on the tower with state-of-the-art laser scanners.
Our job was to create the structure’s BIM model containing geometric and non-geometric information. This process is known as Scan to BIM. Data were further utilized for maintenance purposes and renovation process preparation.
The Leica RTC360, combined with Leica P40 ScanStation and high accuracy total station Leica TDRA6000, were used by our engineers to capture all essential field data to form the BIM of a level of detail 300 – LOD 300.
